Managing Stress Through Meditation

According to Stanford University Medical School, stress is the cause of at least 95 percent of illness and disease. Harvard Medical School’s website claims, “Chronic stress is linked to heart disease, stroke, and may also influence cancer and chronic respiratory diseases. And illness is just the tip of the iceberg. Stress affects you emotionally as well.”

Managing Stress Through Meditation is a Hollister Institute workshop that teaches the neuroscience behind meditation to support participants in managing stress. This 1.5-hour workshop will give tips and guidance to support you in starting daily meditation practices. Daily meditation has proven to:

  • Decrease anxiety, depression and loneliness
  • Increase positive emotions and energy
  • Increase focus and attention span
  • Increase resilience
